Well, it happened. A lot of adventure for a week and a lot to tell all of you about. It was hard to wrap my head around the immensity of this trip. So to try to break things down a little bit, we are going to do a few different types of posts here for everyone. I know Bear Country has a few different fans, looking for different things.
To help make sure I can get it all out to you and as useful to you all as possible, here is what I will do. There will be a couple series that I run on Shenandoah National Park:
- The Family Camping Series- This will include stories about the family camping aspect and will have some suggestions on how to make Shenandoah a family trip.
- The Wilderness Series- This will be the story of Seningen and I adventuring through the Wilderness of Shenandoah. It will include lessons learned and the intense journey that was learning what Wilderness with a capital W actually means.

3. Trail Reviews: This will be a continuation of my trail review series. I will be talking about the difficulty and ups and downs of the trails we hiked in Shenandoah National Park.
4. Lessons and Planning Tips: Planning both the Family Camping and Wilderness Adventure parts of this trip was daunting. I will break down the planning we did, the snags and snafus, and total mistakes that we made so you don’t have to. These will be split into Family Camping and Wilderness Adventure for ease of navigation.
I know this is kind of a tease, but I will say that you are really in for a good story if you stick with us. It has a little bit of everything- ups, downs, joys, fears, bonding, and anxiety. Shenandoah was a hell of an experience. Now the countdown begins for the MD AT…
