Wow. Some friendly advice, getting back in the saddle… WAY harder than staying in it. But as you can see the gang’s all back together and on the trail again. Since the last time I posted we have been stutter started a couple times, dealing with life. Seningen had his shoulder surgery and recovery. Nick has changed jobs, and I am finally done hiking all alone.
In a full attempt to get back in the saddle, we have done a couple hikes and a couple meetings to plan for the curveballs life pitched the last couple months. Let’s start with the hikes. After taking a break from the trail we have discovered we are way behind our goal to be able to do 10 mile stretches in a single go. Fair Hill and Lums Pond each taught us this lesson.

Additionally Acadia has been put on the backburner for another day. We are instead investing fully in Shenandoah National Park and the Appalachian Trail in Western Maryland. With Nick’s job change, the plans had to shift to accommodate his PTO changes. For some unknown reason he seems to want a job that makes him happy. Seningen and I decided to let that slide, just this once. If only because he has the Bronco to get us to our adventures. More details to come on all of our preparations for this summer and for Alaska to come. Just want to send out a message: We are back!
