This is a very cool one for sure. With a trail head at the White Clay Creek State Park’s Nature Center, the Tri-State trail is one that runs across state borders. It starts in Delaware, crosses the first state line into Pennsylvania’s White Clay Creek State Preserve, and winds its way around until it gets to the tri-state Monument on the border of Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. This trail, like with the one at Lums Pond State park I walked solo this week, I also wore bright orange.
The trail itself is pretty cool, with all the hallmarks of a Pennsylvanian or a Western Maryland trail. It had a few bridges over some creeks, ravines, and the connects to different terrain features. The trail winds through a couple of fields and different types of forest. One of which was a kind of pine forest which was particularly cool given that it is fall and almost all the of the other foliage had lost its leaves. At about 3.76 miles, the trail provided some fun sights, like the Tri-State Monument, without breaking your back.

Overall Rating:
Best Part: Walking between states and seeing the Tri-State Marker
Worst Part: Not much to complain about. If I had to pick something I would say there are a couple places that could use a blazer.
Difficulty: Easy-Moderate
Views: Unique- No big overlooks, but it is an interesting hike with a cool opportunity to see the Tri-State Monument.
Recommendation: Definitely Worth the Hike. Close to Newark, easy trail access, fun to do.
